Redworth Celebrates a Record Year
Award-winning Redworth Construction, one of North Yorkshire’s leading building companies, is celebrating a record 2007 – and looking forward to an even more successful 2008.
Malton-based Redworth, whose work extends right across the country into the Isle of Wight and Scotland, is to build on this success by recruiting more staff and buying more land for development.
Last year the company’s turnover broke the £30 million barrier – and, with a full order book for 2008, Redworth is expecting turnover to reach £35 million in 2008.
Howard Rogers, managing director, commented: “Despite fears of a housing slowdown and of a recession, we are going from strength to strength. Our core business of building care homes for the elderly is booming, whilst we landed the prestigious £4.2 million contract to build a new sixth form centre, sports hall and animal care home at Norton College in the autumn last year.
“Meanwhile we are involved in children’s day nurseries and housing association projects and we undertake office and private residential housing developments. Indeed we are building brand-new 6,000 sq ft offices for ourselves this year at Manor Park, Old Malton, with work starting on site after Easter.
He said: “We are currently building new care homes in the Isle of Wight for LRH Homes, in Leeds for Meridian Healthcare and in Heckmondwike for Avery Healthcare, together with major extensions to two BUPA Homes in Penrith and Chester. All projects are now on site. We have established an excellent working relationship with BUPA, who have now become a valued client.
As a result of this success, Redworth is currently recruiting more staff, including quantity surveyors, contract managers and site managers.
He explained: “All our developments are built to the highest standards, using the latest design techniques and eco-friendly products, where possible. We offer a one-stop shop, from land identification and acquisition, through to design and build and financial advice and solutions. We believe our expertise enables us to provide the very best service and to deliver projects and developments which match, and exceed, the high expectations of our clients.
He added: “We are a privately-owned company, whose ethos is based on working closely with our partners. We pride ourselves on quick decision-making, complete transparency and careful financial controls. After only six years of trading, our turnover has broken the £30 million barrier, which we are very proud of.
Mr Rogers commented: “A large percentage of profits are invested back into the company to ensure that our future is founded on a solid and structured basis. Many types of construction techniques are employed on projects, ranging from traditional to timber frame to modular and volumetric systems.
Eco-homes, energy efficiencies, grey water recycling are considered at the design concept stages and are used during the construction process when applicable and desirable. We have a strong customer focus and as a result find that our clients are keen to work with us on a repeat basis”.
